ASYO FLUTE CHOIR

The ASYO Flute Choir offers a dynamic and enriching experience for flutists eager to grow as expressive, collaborative musicians. Students perform in a dedicated flute ensemble, exploring a wide range of repertoire that develops tone, blend, balance, and ensemble precision.

At the heart of the program is an intensive, masterclass-style environment where flutists refine technique, musicianship, and ensemble skills through focused study of flute choir literature. Students also have the opportunity to expand their versatility by performing on piccolo, alto and bass flute, exploring the full range of the flute family.

Flute Choir members have the opportunity to perform on ASYO concerts as well as at special events throughout the community. Participation in the Flute Choir is open to all qualified flutists; students may enroll whether or not they are members of an ASYO orchestra. Admission is based on the Concert Orchestra audition, with final placement determined by the ASYO artistic staff.

ASYO FLUTE CHOIR SCHEDULE

Members of the ASYO Flute Choir will meet on the below dates at Asheville High School from 6:15-7:15 in the Large Dance Studio. Please follow the same requirements as the Concert Orchestra members in regard to Dress Code, Rehearsal Requirements, etc. for concerts and general. One fun, quirky thing about the large dance studio is that you cannot wear shoes on the dance floor! Please come prepared to wear fun socks in that space!

Flute Choir Tuition is $350.00 for members not involved in one of the other ASYO Groups.

For members of the Concert Orchestra or the Youth Philharmonic, Flute Choir is $80.00 as a Chamber Music “add on”. Financial Assistance can be used for Flute Choir Tuition - you can apply for that by following the link on the ASYO Portal (www.asyo.info).
